I'm fine, thank you and YOU?

WeeN's note: This is my first time attempting on a review, I don't know much musical jargons and I have a weak vocabulary, so bear with me. On the other hand, this is MY freaking opinion on TONIGHT, so I can say whatever I want to say, correct? I might even change my opinion in the future, so please read this with a pinch of salt. After all, my meat can be your poison. :P

So my favourite Korean group has finally released its latest mini album after a break (from performing in Korea, but active in Japan).

Titled TONIGHT, BIGBANG's 4th mini album was released on the 24th of February 2011 and the boys will be celebrating their 5th anniversary in August, with rumours of them dropping a full album during that time.

Truthfully, I anticipated their return so much and was definitely excited after listening to the teasers. When the record dropped, I went, "Oh my, this sounds so much like their Japanese stuff"

Imagine my disappointment because I'm not really fond of their first Japanese album, Big Bang. Although I did enjoy their other releases like HANDS UP (gets my adrenaline pumping), Tell Me Goodbye, 声をきかせて(Let Me Hear Your Voice, such a soothing one, though sad), I was not impressed. Partially because I'm not very into electronic-sort of stuff.

TONIGHT has 6 tracks including the INTRO (THANK YOU & YOU), which got me hooked on the "I'm fine, Thank you and You?". I'm not sure, just that it's addictive and I like how each of them say (sing?) it in their own ways.

HANDS UP
"Hey ho! Hey ho!"
This is obviously a fun song, released first in Japan, but too bad there wasn't an MV for it, I prefer this to BEAUTIFUL HANGOVER (although the boys look damn fine in it). They performed this at the MTV Japan Video Awards 2010 and I enjoyed it so much! :D Thankfully it doesn't sound weird in Korean, though I sometimes wonder, when these artistes have versions of their songs in other languages, don't they get mixed up or something? :P

TONIGHT is the promoted track from this album, and though the first few seconds sounds like it's gonna hit you right at the face.. well it didn't. I like GD's and T.O.P's verses, and how they slowly build up towards the chorus. Unfortunately I don't like the chorus LOL. I like how the cheers and applauses of audience is incorporated into the song. It brings a 'high' feel towards the song, and the claps! :) Taeyang's part after the second chorus is nice, matches his voice well.

Okay after listening to it a few times, it kinda grows on me.

Surprisingly, I like Somebody to Love eventhough it has elements that might just make me hate it. The style is a bit like Gara Gara Go! and it's a song that makes you want to bob your head and dance along. The funny thing is, everytime I think of the title, Justin's Bieber's Somebody To Love keeps playing in my mind. -__-

What is Right is skewed towards pop, the beginning reminds me of something Taylor-Swift-ish. I enjoy this song, makes me wonder at times, what is right, and what is wrong? Can you tell me? :P

The last track, Cafe has relaxing vibe about it. Finally Daesung gets to shine more! I really wish he would given more parts, and while the others get to release solo albums (or sub-unit albums, in TOP's case), instead of Cotton Candy, he should get at least a mini album or something! At least he'll get an opportunity to showcase his own musical style. Unless he's more interested in acting. Teehee.

So far the comeback performances had been great and well-received. I find the choreographies for YG Entertainment's artistes evolving, starting with 2NE1's sort of freeze+movement+a bit of dance Go Away, and BIGBANG seems to be picking up on that sort of style as well. Making use of the stage, dancers and props instead of just sticking to dance steps which at times, will hinder their vocal abilities.

Appearance-wise, I love their new hairstyles (okeh except for Taeyang's and Seungri's, theirs are the same). Daesung looks so good in that side-swept short crop, and I think he's lost some weight?

GD is getting involve in singing more these days, and his rapping styles are less hip-hoppish, which I really appreciate. TOP on the other hand, is sounding more and more laidback in his raps, compared to their previous works, where I feel he pushed himself to sound more tough and macho. :P

So, how do you find TONIGHT?

Unboxing The Sun

I want to blog about my birthday but i'm gonna give way for this:

You know I have stopped spending on CDs cause I find them unnecessary so it's a huge surprise when my two sisters gave me a bag containing Taeyang's SOLAR album (International version). I sorta of squealed/screamed (oh such a fangirl, aint i?).

Feel a bit bad because it must have costed them their allowances so THANKYOUVERYMUCHMYADIKS!

So here are the photos, for your pleasure(s), regardless of whoever you are. Enjoy.

FRONT. OH hye handsome!

BACK. Oh got DeeVeeDee!

Open the top lid to reveal:

what's that? Looks like a namecard LOL

damn sayang want to scratch that

CD

DVD

My NATURE REPUBLIC haul since we went to Berjaya Times Square:

daymn the salesgirl's good!

oh hello handsome! (I should give this to Yng Jiun.. hmmm..)

So to repay their kindness, I brought them to Kimchi at Tropicana City Mall, a place my sister frequented (the manager recognises her!). I myself went there twice before. It's a good place, not crowded all the time :D and service is good! But I've yet to try their grilling stuff.

the refillable side dishes, though not as much as Daorae

i ordered this spicy beef stew, but i don't find it spicy! lighter than kimchi jigae, with egg, filled with beef, mushrooms, tanghoon and etc., comes with rice

their version of mixed rice (or i dare say nasi kerabu!)

pro at work chewah

ready! simple yet addictive

kimchi stew *hearts* not enough kimchi? take some from the banchan and throw it in!

Is definitely visiting this place again because it's not heavy on the wallet definitely. :D

That's all folks! Leaving you with Taeyang's You're My+I Need A Girl MV! :D

Current favourite listens.

Hwanhee - Because I Missed Your Heart

I love his voice. But the only thing that bugs/annoys/irritates me is...

"Because YOU IN my heart~ Because YOU IN my heart~ "

Aiseh. Takpelah.

Taeyang (BIGBANG) - Wedding Dress

First time I heard this, I wasn't so impressed. I don't know why. It's a typical Taeyang song. But after watching him perform at MAMA 2009, I changed my mind. And it's one of my favourite songs right now. The video is just sad though.

Suddenly teringat that Michael Learns To Rock song.

"...all the time but this is 25 minutes too late.."

Taeyang terlambat a few seconds before the other fella proposed.

T__T

Love the dance choreography! Gonna learn it for fun! =P

I turned 23..

.. yesterday which was 7 days after Ching Chung's, 5 days after Pak Wan's, 4 days after BIGBANG's T.O.P.'s 22nd and Naresh's, 3 days after BoA Kwon's (still cannot believe she's my age and yet she's so much more successful than I am), 2 days after Ikmal's and a day before Se7en's 25th (which is today LOL)!

Yesterday Park Bom of 2NE1 had her first solo performance for You and I, a song which always makes me want to cry after watching the video. I don't know why but she looks so.. kesian. You know what I mean. Especially in this performance, she looks like she can just burst into tears anytime!

But she's so adorable!

And BIGBANG performed 声をきかせて on CDTV! Gosh looking at the 2 little animated hosts reminded me of the days where I used to watch Orange Range's performances on the same show! ='(

I likey T.O.P's hat!

Anyways, was out for lunch with my friends in Jaya 33's d'italiane kitchen to celebrate Justin's belated and the November kids' birthdays (Pak Wan, Ikmal, me and Tien Ming)!
Sorry no food photos, but do check out the reviews for the food there here and here, but overall the food are quite good!

Went out for a family dinner and had crabs and venison! =D

Tried soju for the first time - one with 19% alcohol. However, I don't quite enjoy it. It's a bit diluted for me. Next time will try the ones with higher alcohol content. =P

Got my first ever BIGBANG stuff thanks to my sister!

=D

Must show you what's inside. *fangirl mode*

Can you imagine my excited-ness when I got this? My first ever BIGBANG stuff! Weeeeee!~ Oh and The Time Traveler's Wife is from big bro. I was secretly planning to get it after reading a good review from one of the newspapers and then "Tada!". Macam he can read my mind pulak. Hee.

So how do I feel turning 23?

. . . .

I don't really feel much. Hahaha. I guess it's just another day for me, but it was great getting all the superb birthday wishes from my friends and the people I know.

To sum it up, by 23 I:

- graduated with a degree after 3 years of slaving myself (half-heartedly)
- fell in love, fell out of love
- discovered that I like
BIGBANG and funny Korean variety TV shows
- did some things that I'm not proud of, some I regretted doing, and hopefully will never do them again
- made new friends, lost some friends (unintentionally)
- realised that high-top sneakers are awesome to a point that I want to own a pair or two (or three or four why not make it five or six?)
- want to start reading back again
- and what else ah?

Anyways, hope to be able to start working by next year, and hope to improve myself physically, mentally and socially. Oh and financially. Don't want to rely much on my parents, although they don't mind.

And hope to be able to start traveling solo. =D

Thanks for everything you people! God bless y'all!

Let me hear your voice.

I know I haven't done this for quite a long time - giving birthday wishes to my favourite artistes.

Today is BIGBANG's eldest member, T.O.P.'s birthday!

I sound like a fangirl.
And everyone must be thinking that T.O.P. is my favourite BIGBANG member but
NONONO.. G-Dragon catches my eye the most.

But T.O.P. is a special dude. And I like special dudes.

=) Love his voice~

And anyways, today is the release date for BIGBANG's latest Japanese single, 声をきかせて, which is used as the opening theme for a Japanese drama titled おひとりさまOhitorisama.

There's something about this song which I think really suits the Japanese market, so I think it'll do well. It has a feel-good melody, and the rap parts by G-Dragon and T.O.P. are in English, just like ガラガラGO!. Except this new single is more of a love song.

Here's the video (ohmygod my blog is loaded with BIGBANG now, just like how it used to be loaded with Orange Range :P):

Happy Birthday T.O.P. and Congratulations to BIGBANG! =D

*BIGBANG's video belongs to YG Entertainment

It can't be removed like a tattoo.

Gosh I really like this performance of 하루하루 (Haru Haru) by BIGBANG.

Enough saidlah.
