Pasta Zanmai is a "Japanese casual pasta restaurant" which serves of not only variety of pasta (soup-based, curry-based, cream-based, wafu-based etc), but also omurice (like our nasi pattaya), pizza and those little tidbits which can be found in sushi outlets (chicken katsu, grilled squid and yadayada). If Zanmai sounds familiar to you, then it's because it's under the same company as Sushi Zanmai and Sushi Zen.
The first time I ate in Pasta Zanmai, I had the squid ink pasta! Which wasn't horrible-/yucky-tasting or anything, but I would not want to order it again because I don't find it that special and it stained my teeth!
Definitely a NO-NO to order if you're there for a date. Okeh?
Was there for my second time with CawanMilo, because she wanted to try it (and it has been more than a year since I first tried) and one of her friends was like, "OHMYGOD diediedie oso you must go there waaannnn!"
Or something like that lah. She even called her (or him?) to ask for recommendations.
Both of us ordered the sesame sauce-based pasta - recommended by her friend and I remembered from my first tryout and some blogs that sesame sauce-based ones are the best!
True enough they were really good, and the best thing about the sauce is, you won't get so jelak/icky as fast as cream-based sauces! Unlessla, you're crazy about cream-based sauces. =P
A plate of pasta can go about RM20-ish so be prepared to fork out more than that (unless you just have green tea as your drink and nothing else).
Go and try of you get bored of Western-styled pasta!
