Happy New Year!

I know it's already the second week of 2018, but I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all..

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Highlights of 2017

A post shared by WeeN (@weenangeline) on

My best nine of 2017 on my Instagram.

Of course I had a great year with my trip to Tokyo, especially to attend RADWIMPS Human Bloom Tour final concert in Nippon Budokan. I also managed to go to their Singapore concert.

My brother got married..

and one of the Random Quartet got married too!

The not-goods of 2017

Losing our pet cat, Tiger after Chinese New Year, that was a bummer. Then there was some downs at work and neverending disappointment of myself.

There was this deaths of Chester Bennington and Jonghyun of Shinee too, which affected me in some ways..

A few of my old relatives passed away this year too, and the year ended with a terrible news of friends losing their child.

....

Honestly, I wouldn't call it a great year. I hope that 2018 will be better not only for myself, but also for the people that I love.

Wishing you all a great year ahead too ya.

It's 2017 already!

Hello all, it’s the third day of 2017! I was thinking whether I should recap my 2016, but I can’t really remember much besides my obsession with RADWIMPS, though I must say, I would really like to cut down on the obsession.

Like seriously. :P

Did nothing much during the long weekend-I think I hibernated at home!

Had a short sad moment on the first day of 2017 when someone posted a news of Yojiro Noda dating Atsuko Maeda but then both parties denied through their Twitter accounts. I think he also felt a bit meh because the night before RADWIMPS performed at the 67th Kohaku Uta Gassen for the first time with 前前前世 (original version) and then at Countdown Japan 16/17 after UVERworld, on Earth Stage (my two favourite bands back-to-back eh hello why was I not in Japan?!) and of all things to be reported is a news of him dating instead of how awesome they were the night before.

Anyways, actually no harm in him dating. Even UVERworld's Takuya is married. Just that my 心 sure sakit sekejap. Haha.

You see now why I must cut back on the obsession?

-_-

Resolutions?

I just want to be better than I was in 2016. I remember Flowsik said somewhere:

Better yourself every day

So I would very much like to do that.

Excited for what’s coming this year!

Hint: something to do with Japan and RADWIMPS. And weddings. Not mine though.

Note: I still can't find my camera -_- so my 2015 Japan trip posts can go down the drain for now.

Hopes and Wishes for 2016

Missing this little puff already!

Nope, not to be a mother. That's just way too soon!
Plus I'm not sure about having kids.
And judging by the photos above..

I want to be emotionally stronger.

I'm a crybaby. Like seriously. I even cry when I get very angry. The first day of new year I got a light scolding by my mom and I went to my room and teared and thought "why am I so useless?"

YOU SEE I TYPE NOW OSO I EMO ALEDI. #hopeless

So, I hope that I can be a stronger person. I have two sisters to take care of and with my parents back at our hometown, it's partially my responsibility (besides their own selves) to keep them safe.

So yeah. *flexes muscles*

I want to be mindful of my finances.

Yeah. Must stop spending unnecessarily and try to save (or be stingy!) in any way I can. It's my own fault that I'm in a financial rut, so I hope I will be able to at least minimize the damages. Which leads me to the next point..

I want to start saving for a family trip.

Because I want to bring my parents somewhere outside Malaysia, especially my mom, who has never been out of Malaysia. I think it will bring me great happiness to be able to do so! :) So I have decided to not go anywhere overseas with friends or on my own.

I want to be healthier.

And lose weight. I think I've been hoping to do so every year but failed. I have a wedding in September so I hope to lose a dress size (or two!) by then. And I hope to do so without having to break my bank!

And I need to get something done about my sneezing fits. I can't be popping antihistamines too often, can I?

I want to fall in love.

Or meet someone. Apparently, my parents were told that this is the best age for me to get married. Or else I have to wait another 3 years. But the best is this age!

Unfortunately for my parents, I don't think I will haha. I'm not meeting anyone right now because.. sometimes I just don't have the desire to do so. I don't go out that much either so I don't meet new people that often. And plus because of my appearance I tend to not have any confidence that any guy would fall head over heels for me so wtf casecloseliaolor.

So yeah.

PFFFFFTTTTT.

I want to be better at Japanese.

I found out that I have lost the drive to study Japanese recently. Even though I passed JLPT N5, I think I screwed up N4 and it would be a great miracle if I passed!

I hope I will be able to be serious about it, because I want to be able to communicate with my sensei with less errors, and understand Japanese stuff better!

I want to save for more Japan trips!

So that I can watch UVERworld again. Plus I want to bring both my sisters together with me. And this will only happen after the family trip which I hope to be able to do soon!

Ok that's all for now. Maybe along the way I'll start having more stuff to add on. Haha.

Adios 2015!

my #2015bestnine on instagram, 2 posts on UVERworld, not bad eh?

So another year is leaving. A new one is coming in in less than 4 hours.

I would looooovvvvveee to do a long recap, but I can't remember much I did.

And to make matters worse I only started actively blogging in the second half of the year.

Honestly, I lost the passion for blogging for a while.

Until I went to Japan and it gave me a reason to right about my favourite country LOL

2015, was nothing much. It has its ups and downs. I think it was more of a year of recovery? Especially from all that shit my family went through. Still recovering, but I hope it'll come to a closure real soon.

Some (little) highlights!

Had weddings the first 2 days of 2015:

One was my cousin, Jesica's in Malacca, which was actually for the groom's side and their friends. They already did one at our hometown end of last year.

The other one was Selene's:

#tmselene got hitched!

I actually had a funny video for the ceremony above. Maybe I'll post on their 1st anniversary hahaha

The Random Quartet

My first trip overseas after 2 years of not going anywhere was to Siem Reap, Cambodia, which I have not finished blogging about. I'm not sure if I will evah! *cues evil laughters*

Read here and here first loh.

It was our first trip together as a quartet, after being friends for more than 10 years wtf. Hope to be able to take on more adventures before we begin our own families!

Me and Osakajo

I returned to Japan in June, covering Osaka (again!), Nara (again!), Kyoto and Kobe. Posts will be up in 2016!

And welcoming a new addition to the family, Jesica's and Keith's offspring: Emily!

November baby as well. Like me. November babies are awesome.

So yeah. That's it. I'm sure there are other things. Oh I started compiling food adventures by month, so be sure to check my monthly food roundup posts.

As for 2016, for now all I can say..

Just come lor.

HAPPY NEW YEAR EBERIBADEE!

To be me again.

Initially I thought..

Fuck resolutions this year.

Hahaha.

Because I didn't have the time/energy/will/desire to have any this year after such an emotional 2013.

But then since I've been doing for the past few years, and I did resolve to be somewhat better in something or just generally, I thought what the hell.

There's only one resolution this year. Because I didn't feel as ambitious as I was in the yesteryears.

I just want to build my life back.

Yes.

Simple.

So many things I let go because of a guy who ended up breaking my heart - my passion for Japanese language, my Japanese bands, my 2nd trip to Japan (and a Nippon Budokan experience!), my friends, my time..

I allowed myself to be sucked into him that I pretty much lost my identity.

Okay I didn't lose my identity, but I finally figured that everytime I'm with someone I ended up sacrificing a lot for him.

Since I'm not here to sulk (that's for another post), I just wish that for this year, I hope I will be able to build up my life again - my lost dreams and passions, lost times..

I know it will take me some time - might even spill over to the years to come if I don't try hard enough.

But I guess this is something I have to do.

To be me again.

Goodbye 2013..

I don't ever want to be reminded of you.

My most fucked-up year thus far.

I remember at the end of my reviewing 2012 post, I requested for "more laughter and tears of happiness, instead of sadness and heartbreaks".

I thought I was granted with my request. Or sort of. Well not really. But it wasn't the other. So everything was.. safe.

My 2013 was.. just okay.

Unfortunately, at the end of the year, things sort of.. screwed up.

I got my heart broken, by a guy who, I wouldn't say THE ONE but.. I love him nonetheless.

Note the tense I used for the word "love".

My friends would slap me.

I'm not gonna deny that I still have feelings for him.

Like I say before, for him to be happy after what had happened.. it's just so fucking unfair.

What did I do to deserve this?
How did he have the heart to do it?
Why did he do it?
Does he have any guilt at all?

I thought I could forgive, but I think.. I don't want to fool myself.

If I forgive him, I won't be able to forgive myself. I've already put myself in this crap and I don't want to add salt to the injury.

I'm gonna let the others do the forgiving/unforgiving: friends, his girlfriend, God..

Please don't ask me to forgive or forget.

I won't do it.

I'll be polite to him when it is needed of me to.

People will say, "Move on!"

Please. Don't tell me to move on. I'm sure if you were to go through what I went through it'll take you some time to recover.

So allow me to fucking take my time. I'll weep whenever I feel like weeping. I'll get angry whenever I feel angry. I'll long for him if I feel like it.

The other thing that screwed up my year is..

Well, it's a family matter.

A huge challenge for all of us.

All we gotta do is stay strong, and hope for end as soon as possible.

Oh how it angers me when I think of the possibilities of foul-playing.

God is watching you people.

I guess 2014 is all about hoping for our suffering to end.

2013 Resolutions

My 2013 resolutions!

moo?

Here you go:

  • Attend an UVERworld live - ahhh just the thought excites me, I do hope this will happen! I met someone who wants to go together (BUTT-obssessed girl) so I'm very excited because it's more fun to go crazy when there's someone who shares the same interest as I do! I want to bring my sisters along too but unfortunately I don't earn enough to be able to do so. :( Unless the band has a show somewhere here
  • Eat healthily - had my share of scares last year, so I have to eat healthily this year
  • Lose weight, or rather fats - obviously
  • Have a positive mindset - which is something I lack
  • Be someone who gets less easily irritated - I really need to make this one happen, I tend to hurt others feeling because I get irritated at the smallest things like doing chores!
  • Be more mindful of what I say and think
  • Have more courage in voicing out my opinions, if I can process them fast enough LOL
  • Treat my family and my friends better - VERY IMPORTANT
  • Go out more! Yeah this is a challenge to the introvert side of me
  • Run? I know I'm not into exercising so running is my best option. Or maybe do a half hour Gangnam Style before going to work. I think that dance can burn a lot of calories (and easy too!). I just need to be careful not to wake my neighbours earlier than they're suppose to wake up hahahaha
  • Be less lazy! I was such a bum last year, so I want to be less bum-my this year
  • Blog more, write more..
  • Study Japanese language diligently. And then maybe once in a while touch Mandarin? I was impressed at the girl at my language center who can speak Mandarin, Cantonese AND Japanese. I thought she was a Japanese because I always hear her speaking Japanese, and randomly when she spoke Mandarin/Cantonese I would go, "My goodness this girl can speak Chinese also, I lose weh". But then I found out she's Ipoh mali (from Ipoh)!
  • Not let people irritate/stress me out. Who are they to do so anyways? *kicks them*
  • Drink less Starbucks! Not that I have anything against Starbucks, it's just that I need to save money and cut down on sweet drinks. I'm a calon diabetes (diabetes candidate) LOL
  • Take care of myself
  • Be happy. Do things that make me happy, but not trouble others :3
  • Play that freaking keyboard I own. Yeah, I own a YAMAHA keyboard since I was 15, but... I've not been able to do anything with it. I really wanna learn and play my favourite songs.
  • Be attentive to my surroundings
  • Be careful!
  • Be good at my job, regardless whether I like it or not. I'm paid to do it, so I want to receive my salary knowing that I deserve it
  • Plan my future. I'll turn 27 end of the year (OH GOD WHY SO FAST WAN?), so I need to set foot on some things
  • Be careful with my finance *thinks back at the year when I successfully saved for a car* since I want my first resolution to happen
  • Take good care of my things!
  • Learn to be independent
  • Wake up early to work!
  • Take care of my appearance :P
  • Learn to forgive AND forget - I use the word "learn" because I know, it's hard since I'm the type that forgives, but I don't forget :/

Phew, they all look so jumbled up. I hope I can strike at least some concrete ones by the end of the year LOL.

I might just randomly add up. Who says that resolutions had to be set at the start of the year?

Right?

Looking Back At You, 2012

2012 officially ended around 1 hour and 20 minutes ago, and we survived the 'supposedly' end of the world.

Everyone has been reviewing the year that was so I also want to sibuk (busybody) do one.

*starts scanning 2012 blogposts*

JAPAN AND UVERLIVES

I guess the highlight of the year for me will definitely be traveling to Japan on my own.

It still has not registered in my mind that it happened. Everytime I look at the photos, I would go," Did I really go to all these places that week?"

I bought the flight ticket to Tokyo without much thought in 2011, then started planning for everything after finding out UVERworld's 2012 tour schedule because the random date I picked for my flight coincided with the first few dates of their tour.

But of course things didn't go as planned, I couldn't get the tickets that I wanted, and had to change my flight, and got tickets for the last few dates instead.

What a relief it was, though expensive. Nerve-wrecking as well, because I had to gather the courage to tell my parents that I was traveling alone. Imagine how long it took me to tell my mom especially! When I told her she had a pocket knife in her hand. :3

It was amazing when she gave her consent, although at times I wonder if she did it relunctantly.

I guess she knew my character too well. I might have gone even without her consent and suffer her wrath later LOL.

After receiving her green light, it was like, "This is it! It's happening!" I had my concert tickets bought, my flight secured, and hotel bookings were done without much thought. For me as long as the hotels were near to the concert venues and near to any subway/train stations, they would be okay.

June came and off to Japan I went. Attended THREE UVERworld lives instead of TWO! One in Fukuoka and two in Ōsaka. :)

It was a really worthy trip, a really good experience for me since it was my first time traveling oversea on my own.

I think I wasn't worried much since I had internet connection with me all the time (unless the battery of my pocket wi-fi died) and I stayed away from trying things that I was unsure about.

I had to cut down on some expenses like food (I relied a lot on covenience stores food) and not buying much おみやげ (omiyage = souvenirs) for my family and friends. :(

I did get lonely at times, especially during meal times. With no one to talk to, I had to resort to reading my guidebook/taking photos/instagramming/surf the web most of the time.

Other than that, I had fun walking on my own, exploring the map, just randomly looking at shops and people.

I made three new friends who shared the same interest in UVERworld - two from Taiwan and a Malaysian!

I wish I had studied more about the two prefectures so that I could explore them to my fullest! :3

Oh well, there's always next time!

:D

ONE OK ROCK START WALKING THE WORLD TOUR

Exactly a week after watching UVERworld in Ōsaka, I had the opportunity to watch another Japanese band live - ONE OK ROCK, a band whose music I got interested in while studying in university who dropped by Singapore for the Start Walking the World Tour.

with brother, who we saw during his lunchtime

I must thank my sister for persuading me to go. Initially when I found out I didn't really bother much since I was going to watch UVERworld, but my sister was like, "Let's go!" and I bought the tickets after she confirmed that she was on holiday during that time.

I didn't have the chance to blog about this because I didn't have much materials to do so. But boy I tell you, I was blown away by this band. It was like a livehouse concert, and I was so close to the stage! I wish I was as this close at UVERworld lives :3

Taka's voice is amazing! I'm so sorry Takuya∞, but Taka has a better voice than you. But I still love you your voice, Takuya∞! I remember there was one time Taka did this vibrato effect with his voice, me and my sister looked at each other with our jaws wide open. LOL.

If Takuya∞'s trademark move is flipping his microphone, Taka throws his and catches it back! :O

On the other hand I prefer Akira's guitar skills to Toru's. Although the former is always lost in his own world when he's playing. Toru interacted more with the audience and provided backing vocals for some songs.

They played a lot of songs from their Niche Syndrome and Zankyo Reference albums as well as their older songs. I remember screaming/shrieking like mad when they played 皆無 (kaimu), because it's the song that made me a fan!

I know I look like crap but I don't care eh-eh-eh-eh-are
Their fan service is quite good as well. All of them were given opportunity to say something. Ryota even said something in Mandarin! He said, "wo qing tian bu hui jia (I'm not going home today)" LOL Toru was sad because "I could not see the Merlion because it was under construction" hahaha

What made me go "awww" is that eventhough they spoke limited English (Taka even said, "I know we sing some English but we can't speak English!" hahahaha), Taka actually got a fan to help him translate whatever he said in Japanese to English.

Before singing C.h.a.o.s.m.y.t.h. which was written for a friend of theirs, he said that he thought of all their fans as their friends. :) So sweet. I love it when artistes show their appreciation to their fans.

Awesome show, ONE OK ROCK is definitely a band which I wouldn't mind watching live again!

BANGKOK

Bought tickets to Bangkok during the AirAsia 10th Anniversary sale with my three girlfriends!

Didn't do much but shop shop and shop.

I didn't shop much because it was more of a break-from-work holiday for me.

Went to the Chatchuchak Market of course. Got myself a bag! :D

Fell in love with Thai iced tea.

Mall-hopping til we drop. LOL

Ate good food.

Though I must say you can't really say, "Oh the best tomyam in Bangkok is ____________!" because the tomyam taste varies from restaurant to restaurant.

We wanted to watch Thai Girls' show (not Tigers' show LOL) so went to Soi Cowboy which was recommended by Anushia's brother.

Well, watched we did. Picked an A-Go-Go bar, ordered drinks and watch naked girls dancing and urm doing stuff to one another.

Actually it was a funny situation. We were the only female customers, and we sat in one line with our drinks, watching the girls' antics, and the male customers antics. Funny AND awkward. Just imagine watching 4 girls not knowing where to place their eyes.

I think we stayed for an hour. Left after finishing our drinks.

Selene said she will never bring her bf to Soi Cowboy. I understand, because I kept seeing guys being pulled into the bars by the sexily dressed girls. When I saw good-looking men being pulled my mind went, "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!"

I even saw this cute Japanese guy, who reluctantly (yeah, right!) went in when he was pulled by one of the girls.

:(

I don't mind going with my bf there though. I might have a good time AFTER.

LOL WTF I'M SAYING I AM VERY INNOCENT WAN OK?

Went to ASIATIQUE for the night view.

nice place to hang out i must say. and you take a boat there too!

The only wat we went to is Wat Hua Lamphong, which is very near our hotel.

Paid 100 baht to feed the cows.

so many moo-moos! and that's me and Pak Wan feeding the greediest one! hmmph!

i love the structures, i'm more drawn to Thai Buddhist temples because of my heritage

BIGBANG ALIVE GALAXY TOUR

Happy that BIGBANG decided to hold a show in KL. My favourite K-pop group finally came! I remember hating them the first time my sister showed La La La to me. Hahaha.

Tickets went on sale 3 months before the concert and was sold out on the same day (methinks).

Lucky I went to One Utama instead of Farenheit88 to purchase the tickets. Lined up for 1.5 hours before being able to buy!

It rained heavily that night that the audience at the open section were given free raincoats! But thankfully it stopped before the concert started. The crew had to quickly mop the stage before the group went on.

Hearing Heaven and Wedding Dress live was.. surreal! Heaven made me a fan, and I absolutely love Wedding Dress, although Taeyang performed a shorter version. Hate his hair though. I still prefer his trademark mohawk.

The stage setting was awesome! They had a band backing them up, and also back-up vocals!

I bought the tickets with roof and numbered seating, but I never thought the audience would take the word 'seating' seriously.

Almost everyone.. SAT during the whole show.

I mean almost, there were a handful standing.. once in awhile.

I wanted to jump and dance but because I would end up blocking other people, I had to sit. Until they sang their hit song Geotjimal, I knew I had to stand! And I did all the way until the end.. which was like 4-5 songs maybe.

Can someone tell me how to sit during a concert?

*flips tables*

2NE1 GLOBAL TOUR... CANCELLED!

Was so excited to find out that 2NE1 also had Malaysia as part of their Global tour! 2NE1 is my favourite female K-pop group by the way.

I just love their.. swag.

Bought tickets when they were on sale, the cheapest ones though for me and my sister, which were almost sold out at The Curve's Rock Corner that we had to buy tickets for separate seatings!

Then it was announced that their shows in Indonesia and Malaysia were cancelled due to "technical issues"

:(

Was so looking forward to it.

Received full refund for the tickets, so I can spend on other things (i.e. UVERworld stuff)

ET CETERA

I started 2012 with remorse due to my paternal grandfather's passing. I recently went back for his 1-year prayers, and we went to his grave. It was the first time seeing his tombstone, which had his family members' names on it. Seeing my name on top of the list of his granddaughters' names was really.. I don't know what's the feeling. It's not sadness.. Was it, emptiness? I wonder.

...

Marriages were celebrated while deaths were mourned.

2012 was full of ups and downs, but the damages broughtforth by the downs managed to drown all my ups.

:'(

I cried the most this year I think, for some personal reasons. I couldn't understand/comprehend some of the things that happened throughout the year.

I wanted to find someone to talk to, but I couldn't express my feeling well. Out of frustration, I would cry and cry and cry.

I got irritated. I got angry. I stressed myself up to a point I fell sick a few times. Once I thought I was having a heart attack after crying.

I hope that this year will be a better year for me and my loved ones.

PERSON(S) OF THE YEAR

My mom, for her patience, her ability to forgive, her strength, her wisdom and her love. If you were to put me in her shoes after  all that happened, I would have fallen, crumble and fade away. I wish I could erase your pain, but I know it's impossible.

and UVERworld, the band whom I secretly envy but openly admire. I admire your passions, your talents and your hardworks and I envy the love that you've received from those who adore you. But your music accompanied me through my ups and downs, and I thank you for that. :)

2013, what will you bring me?

Another emotional rollercoaster? or a straight, safe highway?

I wonder.

If I'm allowed to bargain, can I have more laughters and tears of happiness, instead of tears of sadness and heartbreaks?

The Blabs #1/2011

Whoa. How long has it been since I last posted? *checks last post*

Oh, almost two months ago!

Obviously, a lot has happened like, 2010 left and 2011 came. The Rabbit Year started 18 days ago, and I'm gonna be a quarter of a century by the end of this year.

YAY.

***

PROTON MALAYSIA OPEN 2011
23 JAN 2011

Went to my first badminton match early this year, with Yng Jiun, Yen Lin and friends. I didn't know Lee Chong Wei could make me scream so much. And I saw my favouritest player, Chen Jin! Although he wasn't playing. Hohoho.

:)

Yng Jiun became his number 1 fan because of this smile

teeheehee

I enjoyed the men's doubles game the most. Exciting and nerve-wrecking at the same time! And the passings of shuttlecock were soooooo fast! The funny thing was, the audience were obviously bored of China's domination in most of the final (three) that everyone was rooting for Denmark!

Me too!

Lee Chong Wei-Taufik Hidayat game was okay, hope I'll get to watch Lin Dan in action one day. And also some Japanese and Korean teams.

***

And The Rabbit Hops In!

my uncle bought this potrait somewhere, somehow i've seen it somewhere else too!

As usual I went back to my hometown for Chinese New Year. Since I don't have the time I'm too lazy to explain how it went, I'll just post some random pictures. Cute ones. Don't matter if you think they're not.

Bryan must have been like, "is this Apek serious? does he really wants me to kiss him? pffttt"

Well, to wrap things up, just hope that 2011 will bring me much joy and happiness, as much as 2010 (okeh I wouldn't mind more) and I hope I'll be able to enjoy my life more before I become older.

LOL what a conclusion.
