Hallo October 2016!

Hie readers!

...

I'm gonna cut the chase and just update my life here lah.

Pokemon Go:

Latest eats:

Madame Waffle at One Utama, yesterday.

Might or might not put them in one of the Food Roundup posts, been slacking on that too. :P But the waffles were quite good, but they're not your ordinary waffle sizes. A little bit small for me haha.

Music:

Been into RADWIMPS a lot lately. Like A LOT. It's been a while since any Japanese band caught my attention since UVERworld. I'm still considering whether I should purchase their album which is due to be out end of November, as the limited version has a DVD containing performance from their 10th year anniversary concert last year OR their ×と○と君と (Batsu to Maru to Kimi to) DVD, which contains most of my favourite songs from them (but not their latest DVD)!

After going through their albums, I've decided my favourite song is 有心論, which was released in 2006 (lol wtf 10 years ago hahaha the video is also a bit lol go look for it!)

Life in general:
  • I still have no love for my job. I just do it for the pay, and until I can figure out what's next for me.
  • One good friend got proposed recently, one friend who got married in 2014 is currently 3 months' pregnant.. and I'm still single and considering to stay single for the rest of my life. LOL.
  • Planning to go to Tokyo next year if my finances allow it. Or anywhere I can catch UVERworld and/or RADWIMPS in concert.
  • I still have no idea what's my aim in life.

I guess that's it for now! Gonna end with this video:

September-san by RADWIMPS from their Ao to Mememe DVD. If you watch properly Yojiro Noda had braces on! :O #eagleeye

I suck at writing.

..which explains the lack of posts nowadays.
-__-

sorreh eberibadee.

I realised that I have to write more to be good at writing.

Got caught up to write about a topic by one of the higher managers (although I was NOT supposed to write, just feed her information, but ended up me writing wtf %^&#@!) and I found out I could not even string proper sentences without making myself sound lame.

So pissed off with myself lah.

I guess I have to do something about this.

as a start haha

Here's to more writing!

Simple pleasures in life

Check out the contest to win weekly prizes of Jacob's products and the awesome grand prize!

When I received a notification on Churp Churp on one of their latest campaigns, Jacob's Simple Pleasures, my mind immediately flashed to my university days whereby how Jacob's crackers gave me such simple (eating) pleasures (eh!) when slathered with a good amount of Lady's Choice Peanut Butter and Chocolate stripes (other flavours just don't cut it).

I'd always end up purchasing the Low Salt High Fibre ones instead of the Cream Crackers, to balance out the creaminess of the spread. And of course at that time, my only income was my PTPTN loan (LOL!), they were my food alternatives when I get bored of the makcik's food in front of our hostel area or have hunger pangs while studying (yeah right) or just wanting to snack on something but not anything unhealthy (note: junk food), I'd end up reaching for my crackers which would be in the big tin.

When I ran out of the crackers I would buy the ones in the packets to refill the tin (cheapskate save money mah) and dump them into the tin. Since I've started working I don't buy the crackers anymore because I can go out for lunches/to buy lunches, except for that one time during my 6-month programme when I needed some snacking during free time.

Inspired by that campaign, I'm gonna talk about some of my simple pleasures in life. I said some because I might end up missing stuff since I can be absent-minded at times.

1. A good cup of coffee

I call myself a #coffeeholic (no, not hashtag coffeeholic, just coffeeholic, but I placed the hashtag, because..it's my blog and I can do it!). I drink coffee almost everyday. Wait almost? I think I drink everyday including weekends! On weekdays, I will drink a cup, somewhere in the middle between breakfast and lunch. When days get crazy I can end up drinking more! On weekends, I would drink in the morning and usually when I'm out. And I am always on the lookout for good canned coffees! So far my favourites are from this Japanese brand called UCC. :)

sorry for the awful photo quality, it was taken with my old phone and this is the Instagram uploaded one.

More the reason I should submit a photo for the contest to win the espresso machine, no?
*starts digging for potential prize-worthy photos*

2. Listening to my favourite song(s)

I hardly listen to the radio when I drive. My car comes with iPod plug-in so my trusty 4th generation iPod Touch gets abused more! Most of the songs are quite old, I don't keep myself updated with new songs unless they're from my favourite artistes or some random songs that I like a lot.

It's like a therapy really. Sometimes when I am not in a jolly mood, certain songs can just lift up my spirits and make me smile again. Some songs can just get me superhyper even when I'm in a good mood and it will end up multiplying my good mood!

You can see that I've put up a list of my favourite songs of the moment on my sidebar, but honestly there are tons more!

Like currently, one of my faves is this acoustic cover of UVERworld's 7日目の決意 by Aiemu, which is just damn beautiful. I mean of course I love the original, but this I gotta promote as well.

And also Taylor's Swift Shake It Off.

It's just a fun song lah although I'm not like her biggest fan. Ok I am not a fan haha but I don't dislike her or anything. I do like some of her stuff but I wouldn't call myself a fan.

I'm just gonna shake, shake, shake
Shake it off
I shake it off
*dances like a crazy lady*

3. Books

I'm not what you would call a bookworm. I used to read A LOT when I was younger. When I like a certain book I can finish it off in a day or too. Now I can't do it anymore, the most I can do is read maybe 3-4 chapters in one go if the book is really, really interesting.

4. Eating

My favourite gelato is the one from Cielo Dolci

Isn't it the best pleasure in life? I'm basically a glutton, I'm sure I was born to eat, not to eat to live. I'm happy when I eat, especially good food.

my mom's khao jam (nasi ulam) - we call it nasi kerabu though

Nando's Chicken Breast Fillet Burger with coleslaw and peri chips

rambang mata

Sakae Sushi's grilled salmon belly - a favourite

I know of a friend who eats a lot when she is stressed/angry/upset, but immediately after eating her meal (appetiser + main dish), she would say, "Ah I feel much better now, not so angry/stressed/upset anymore" and goes back facing her challenges as if nothing happened.

Talk about food therapy.

So I hope I can inspire you all to write about you favourite simple pleasures in life too! Head on to Jacob's Malaysia FB page to participate in the contest if you're interested!

Celebrate your simple pleasures! *cheers*

The Blabs #3/2012 - Short updates!

My last post was two months ago, and it wasn't the last post about my Japan trip. I have another one coming up, but I've been too lazy editing and watermarking my photos - something I used to enjoy doing so much for my blog.

Maybe it's my usual writer's block-phase, or maybe it's just me being lazy.

I will try my best to complete the post, as a closure on my Japan trip.

* * *

One of the things I enjoy doing nowadays is attending my basic Japanese language class, which happens once a week on Saturdays.

My きょうし is a younger girl called あや(Aya) and she's such an adorable character! She loves drawing on our homeworks - simple drawings of flowers, rabbits and smiley faces, complete with praises like "すばらしい" or "かんぺき" or "いいですね" with red ink.

I like learning the language. Initially I wanted to take up the language to enable me to read my Japanese mags (long way to go though!) and song lyrics (obviously) but now, I realised that it actually helps me in understanding dramas better as well!

I wish I had taken it earlier before I went to Japan, at least I would have known to say "日本人じゃありません" instead of "日本人じゃない" where the former is more proper and formal. I hope I did not piss any Japanese off when I said the latter. LOL.

* * *

I am still a fan of UVERworld. Haha. Even more so after the release of THE OVER. I wanna go to their concert again! There 7th album will be released end of this month, and of course I've pre-ordered it.

Well if I do have the money and time I would go to watch them again next year, but I'm afraid I need to be sensible and prioritise other things first.

I wish the band would venture outside Japan, I mean, ONE OK ROCK went to Singapore, MIYAVI came to Malaysia, YUI had her hotel tour in Hong Kong (ah this girl I want to see as well) and Perfume will have their show in Singapore end of this month..

SONY MUSIC JAPAN Y U NO BRING UVERWORLD OUTSIDE JAPAN??!

*sighs*

Tomorrow is the drummer's birthday!

I love it when artists have birthdays near mine, it makes me a little proud somehow.

Today's BIGBANG's TOP's birthday!

* * *

I wanted to blog about something serious but I can seem to find the right words.

Hmm..

The Blabs #2/2012

Wow it's almost half a year but this is the only second edition of The Blabs for 2012?

I must have ran out of things to say.

Or maybe I'm just busy blabbing about other things.

LOL

Russell Peters Notorious 2012 World Tour

Now. How did I end up watching this comedian when I have not even heard ANY of his stuff?

Well, when Malaysia was all abuzz about his show in Malaysia, I was one of the few who was like, "Oh-kaaayyy, is this dude famous?"

I mean, I've heard the name Russell Peters, and I know he's a comedian or some sort, but I didn't know his jokes. The only famous Russell I knew was obviously Russell Brand.

*smacks head*

One day I met up with my friends for dinner, Wai Loon really wanted to go but he had no one to go with. Then Pak Wan mentioned she and JY are planning to go, so they told me to come along and give Russell's jokes a try.

So I thought, "Why notlar, I could do some laughter"

So went tried to get the tickets to the 12th May show, which was the initial date. Couldn't get the tickets because the seats that we wanted were all sold out and we didn't want to buy the expensive ones.

Left it at that until I read in the news that Russell added another show in Malaysia, a day earlier!

Told my friends and I was arranged to go and line up for the tickets the day they go on sale.

But I didn't go, because we had Pak Wan's friend help to buy!

Yeehaw!

So yesterday we went, and I gotta thank Pak Wan and Wai Loon for recommending me to go.

pan mee (mian fen gui form) in soup at Loving Mee, Glenmarie

Because I can't remember the last time I laughed this much!

one excited fella

I mean, the dude was damn good! His jokes were a bit racist, or country-ist to be exact, but he really knows how to make people laugh. He insults people like nobody's business, some of the audience were victims.

Like Mr. Fizz or whatever his name, the (cute) dude with and angel and Tweety bird tattoos wtf, the French guys, the Scottish, the Nigerian.. ohmygod I can't remember how many times I cringed and smacked my head. I think if they could they would have smacked him good.

Towards the end of the show, he made me laughed until my stomach hurt at the climax where he was telling how his father's thick Indian accent has not gone any thinner even after years of moving to Canada.

"I was making THE turn" (said this with the rolled Ts)
"What do you mean? Are you making A turn?"
"The turn was there! I was making it!"

After his father uses some Indian-ish sounds to describe the conditions of his car and made him say:

"Dad, your car is an illegal immigrant"

I love it how he made jokes about his dad, his Indian accent is actually good. No wait, I think all his imitations of other countries accents are good! His facial expressions are hilarious as well!

Man. What a night.

First Passport Renewal Experience

I used the kiosk! :D

I went to the Kelana Jaya Immigration office, which is very near my place. Reached there at 8.20am and saw a line I almost got a shock.

Lined up for 10 minutes, but the line was moving fast too, until we realised that the queue for the kiosk started inside the office!

Rushed inside and lined up for some 50 minutes before me and my cousin went into a room where there were two machines. Did our things, which took less than 10 minutes (I was impressed, but I had issue where the machine didn't accept one of my notes! :S)

Though I wouldn't say that it was a bad experience, but I changed my mind in renewing my passport for 2-year to 5-year period in an instant when I lined up for the kiosk!

Got the receipt which stated that we should go to the counter 1 or 2 to get our number after an hour, so we had breakfast at a mamak nearby.

After an hour, went back inside the office to get our numbers, and that was when my horror began.

My cousin was able to get her number, but when I pass the officer my receipt, she handed me back and said, "Belum lagi (not yet)"

I was dumbfounded and wondered what it meant. The clock on the wall at the office clearly showed that it was already an hour since I was issued the receipt.

Then I was told by a lady that they would issue the numbers by batches.

In a span of 30-minutes, I was denied a number for four times! :S

Oh boy.

By that time a lot of people were getting impatient, but things luckily didn't turn for the worst. The officer was obviously getting anxious and panicking, I pitied her. Everyone was crowding her counter since she was the only one issuing numbers :P

When I got my number, I got the 35th turn. Almost got a heart attack because I already waited more than an hour, but since the passport collecting turns moved quite fast - like less than 5 minutes per turn, I managed to get mine at 11.40am.

But still, I spent almost 4 hours to get my passport renewed.

Thank goodness I chose the 5-year one.

The Avengers

I watched it twice, once in the normal version and once in the 2D version.

I'm gonna go watch again, to treat my youngest sister. :D

Jeremy Renner, why you so yummeh?

Any Tony Stark's sarcastic lines are a joy to listen to.

Randoms

very unique combination! but it will only taste good if the penne is not too soft

the chicken is good, but i'm not fond of the sambal

new car from Malaysia's first carmaker! Me no like the butt!

I love this! I'm glad it's back, so gonna savour it while it's around

    The Blabs #4/2011

Just came back from a one-week leadership camp up north.

our velcro nametags for the uniform, which we get to keep YAY!

Wasn't keen on going at first due to loads of pending tasks at work, but glad I did. (Yalar if didn't go I'll never be able to get my confirmation!)

    It was a good distraction.

    A GOOD GOOD distraction indeed.

Climbed a few hills, learnt compass marching, did body rafting, which was the awesome-mest activity there, I so wanna do it again! Although I almost drowned after trying to dodge some trees/branches.. Thank goodness for wonderful groupmates and great facilitators!

pacat (bloodsuckers) bite-marks, which are currently itching like crazy fml

And my groupmates during trekking/hill-climbing were so great. On our second trekking we had to hike up this slope which was around 80 degrees and i kept trying not to cry to due the pain in my legs when one of the boys went, "Go Angeline, I'll support you from the back!" And he lifted up my backpack while we climbed together omg i felt so touched *sob sob*

If you were to ask me if I'd do it again, I'll say "NO" is less than a millisecond! But I want to go back to the camp to visit the wonderful people there, those who people would think their jobs are not as tough/great as those in the army/police.

But they are freaking awesome okay? Very pro at what their do! And they risk their own lives saving (some of) us unfortunate ones who had difficulties during body rafting. Some of us passed out and had to be given first aids, I witnessed two and I almost cried because I never thought these kind of things could happen in front of me. But the facilitators were so good at first aids, and they never panicked!

For this, I must salute you Civil Defense officers.

Oh, I did mention it was a good distraction right?

Well, it's because I got to cuci mata my one whole week there.

He stood out as someone who could take care of me (with his physique LOL) and he seems knowledgeable about loads of things and plus plus he's so so cute! LOL wtf. (although my friends weren't so fond of him)

So I gave him my card, with my mobile and private email (embarassing moment happened that time too) and went home.

Then I found out he's married (after info extraction from his ex-colleague).

AND then I found out after further investigation that he has a child already!!!!

    T__T

    F.M.L. wuwuwuwu

    Whylar? Whylarrrrr?

    We should have met earlier.

    HMMPH.

And no, I'm not gonna venture there okay? BIG NO-NO.

    Oh well.

Thank you for being an object of my observation, at least I wasn't all stressed out during that one week because of you.

    Thank you.

    Like Pakwan said, "Next, please!"

    Heehee.

    The Blabs #3/2011

    Oh hi there! Miss me?

    :P

I haven't been blogging for quite a while, was a bit bogged down with work. Not to the extreme of doing work at home though. I did try bringing work back home with me but as always I'll be too tired to do it after dinner. So I'd usually end up bathing and then going to sleep, setting my alarm 2-3 hours earlier before my usual day.

But of course, snooze snooze snooze.

Now I'm a bit free, we are heading to get a certificate in September, and the auditing date is set on a day which I'm supposed to be in Korea.

YES, I'm going to Korea! 7 nights! SEVEN NIGHTS ya hear me????!!!

    :D

I haven't applied for my leave yet, and I haven't inform the head of the committee in charge of preparations for the certification that I won't be around at that time. Sucks being in charge of promotion when my own work is crazy, but i'll do everything before I leave and pass them all to someone.

Right now I'm trying my best not to take anymore off-days so my holiday will be justified.

    :D

Oh, I'm getting a new supervisor. MY FOURTH DIRECT SUPERVISOR is already here but he'll be taking over next week? So.. my current one got a good offer to go somewhere soooooo... SEE WHAT I MEANT ABOUT BRINGING PEOPLE LUCK???!!! (please refer here)

When is MY golden opportunity coming? :(

    ***

Will be going to watch BEAST for the 3rd time!

for more info please visitStar Planet

This is a part of their 1st Fanmeeting Asia Tour, I'm not sure if they're gonna do other stuff besides performing because my sister and my cousin went to the U-KISS one and they got to urm, high-five with the boys!

So I hope the same thing will happen cause I missed an opportunity of seeing them very, very, very close last time so heehee.

WTF I'm such a fangirl. Funny thing is initially I didn't want to go because I needed to save for Korea but I was so stressed about work that I needed to have fun.

    Bought the cheapest ticket!

    ***

Just finished watching My Princess starring Kim Tae Hee and Song Seung Hun.

Didn't expect to enjoy it so much that I finish 16 episodes in less than a week! :D

The last show I watched Kim Tae Hee on was IRIS, where she played an agent, all serious and all. But in this drama, she's like 180 degree different! So bubbly, so joyful and when she cries... :'(
I'm so in love with Song Seung Hun's character, Diplomat Park Hae Young, who is the grandson of the man who wants to restore the Imperial Family back into Korea. Some of his lines are a bit creepy-crawly-cheesy and when he's a jerk at times, he'll make you feel like slapping him, BUT BUT he's so.............. *dreamy sigh* the way he cares for the princess... ahhhhhh..

I wonder if such a character exist in Malaysia' own Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

    Got ah?

    :P

    The Blabs #1/2011

Whoa. How long has it been since I last posted? *checks last post*

    Oh, almost two months ago!

Obviously, a lot has happened like, 2010 left and 2011 came. The Rabbit Year started 18 days ago, and I'm gonna be a quarter of a century by the end of this year.

    YAY.

    PROTON MALAYSIA OPEN 2011
    23 JAN 2011

Went to my first badminton match early this year, with Yng Jiun, Yen Lin and friends. I didn't know Lee Chong Wei could make me scream so much. And I saw my favouritest player, Chen Jin! Although he wasn't playing. Hohoho.

    :)

Yng Jiun became his number 1 fan because of this smile

    teeheehee

I enjoyed the men's doubles game the most. Exciting and nerve-wrecking at the same time! And the passings of shuttlecock were soooooo fast! The funny thing was, the audience were obviously bored of China's domination in most of the final (three) that everyone was rooting for Denmark!

    Me too!

Lee Chong Wei-Taufik Hidayat game was okay, hope I'll get to watch Lin Dan in action one day. And also some Japanese and Korean teams.

    And The Rabbit Hops In!

my uncle bought this potrait somewhere, somehow i've seen it somewhere else too!

As usual I went back to my hometown for Chinese New Year. Since I don't have the time I'm too lazy to explain how it went, I'll just post some random pictures. Cute ones. Don't matter if you think they're not.

Bryan must have been like, "is this Apek serious? does he really wants me to kiss him? pffttt"

Well, to wrap things up, just hope that 2011 will bring me much joy and happiness, as much as 2010 (okeh I wouldn't mind more) and I hope I'll be able to enjoy my life more before I become older.

    LOL what a conclusion.
